Schuylkill County's Fifth Annual "Transition Fair for Youth with Disabilities"
from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Minersville Area High School cafeteria.
All Schuylkill County students with disabilities, aged 14-21 and their families are encouraged to attend this year's transition fair.
Various service providers and agencies will be in attendance to offer information regarding their programs.
Throughout the evening you will have the opportunity to meet and speak with Mr. Edward Butler, Executive Director of the Governor's Cabinet and Advisory Committee for People with Disabilities.

Award winning Filmmaker and Child Advocate Angela Shelton will visit Pottsville for an interactive during which she will present her multi-award winning documentary Searching for Angela Shelton which has started a grassroots movement of healing for survivors of abuse of all genders, races and religions.
Angela has quickly become recognized as one of the more outspoken voices for survivors of trauma.
Angela’s mission is to inspire and empower all survivors of abuse to heal and gain strength and courage to protect all children.
Today Angela travels the world, bringing her message to audiences worldwide.

Proposed Schuylkill River West Trail
This evening trail will follow the route of a proposed trial planned for the west bank of the river from Fairmount Park to Valley Forge National Historic Park.
Walk will begin at 30th Street Station and proceed to Manayunk, where the group will eat dinner and return to 30th Street Station via train.
No limit to number of participants.
This walk is planned in the Schuylkill River Heritage Area Walks series.
All walks are rated as moderately difficult and cost is $30 for full day tours, which includes breakfast, and $20 for evening tours.
A $5 discount is given to members of the Schuylkill River Greenway Association and other environments organizations.
Pre-registration is required.

HOSPICE ANGELS WANTED
Covenant Hospice of Pottsville and Reading, announces its Spring 2008 Hospice Volunteer Training on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at St. Mary's R.C. Church, 94 Walnut Road, Tilden Township, Hamburg, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
St. Mary's Church is approximately three miles from Hamburg on Old Route 22. A popular holiday classic reports that angels earn their wings every time a bell rings. Hospice Volunteers are earth-bound angels that earn their wings everyday through supporting hospice patients and their families. This Volunteer Training will provide a comprehensive Angel / Volunteer training that will prepare its attendees for hospice work. This event will be facilitated in a retreat-like atmosphere; refreshments and lunch will be provided.

Hospice volunteers are like Angels to terminally ill patients and their families. They support them with companionship, comfort and peace of mind. Covenant Hospice is a faith-based organization that appreciates the services its Hospice Volunteers / Angels render and welcome all who may be interested in this upcoming event.

Your stops along the way will enable you to enjoy your local award-winning wineries’ newest vintages released from the stellar 2007 harvest, but relish them with simply prepared, local whole foods.

Enjoy the John Bartram Trail in Landingville.
Meets in the new parking lot on Tunnel Road outside of the village.
This flat hike features the site of America’s oldest railroad tunnel (1827).
This is a Pottsville Project Fit and Pottsville Recreation Commission hike program.
Walk three and get a free T-shirt!
All hikes are free and open to the public.
Please no pets due to insurance risks.
Dress according to the weather and bring water, snacks, bug spray and sunscreen.
